In a world of high screen time and low attention spans, Wanderer Magazine is here—a tangible, independent print magazine and online media platform sharing real stories on real paper with real people.
Wanderer Magazine, in short, is a celebration of creative youth, manifested in a print magazine (although it should be noted that we see youth more as a state of being than a time frame in life). We love to capture and share the authentic processes put into place to turn an idea into reality. In talking to the people carving their paths through their industry, we find out what pushes them to do so, and aim to encourage people to do the same. We are a platform for emerging and established creatives to share the real-life moments of what it means to lead a life dedicated to doing what they love. As well as printing, we keep up to date with current events on our digital blog and newsletter.
We are independently run and operate out of Bellambi, NSW on Dharawal Country.
Wanderer began in 2019, as the final HSC project of Amber-Rose. Issue #001: Passion, was 100 or so A4 pages of interviews with surfers, musicians, friends and community figures, complete with a smooth finish and picturesque cover. Once a team of one, Wanderer turned into a team of two, then three, then four, and now five. With eight issues under our belt (and eight awesome launch parties of course), the magazine aims to share our love of tangible media, of the smell of freshly printed paper and inspiring others through the work of others, and to impress upon young people the importance and viability of pursuing a path they truly love. Amber urges her audience (you, reading this right now) to never settle for anything less.
We recently realised that, since creating this magazine, we’ve developed a passion (and talent) for content creation, design, writing, photography, social media management, sending emails, and basically everything involved in putting a print magazine together. This resulted in the creation of Wanderer the Studio—our place for our outwards-facing client work, which keeps us busy in and amongst working on the magazine.
