Fire Eyes - The latest from Jack Davies and the Bush Chooks

As one of the standout folk artists of our generation, it’s not surprising that Jack Davies and the Bush Chooks have returned with yet another sensational single. ‘Fire Eyes’ is a tender tune, pulling on those heart strings we all have tangled up in the beauty of people and moments, lost, and held on to.

Jack, of course, holds the forefront as we follow along to his words, ever charming as usual. His lyrics carry us through the story, wrapping us into the peace of stripped back acoustic chords and piano keys. It feels poetic and melodic, while his humming eventually leads us into what feels like a celebration amongst the Bush Chooks. They build us up with gentle drumming and subtle harmonica, weaving together nostalgia, warmth, and maybe even regret. Amongst all that though, they’ve successfully maintained that whimsicality we all know and love them for which keeps us coming back for more.
