SWAPMEET RELEASE SINGLE I KNOW!

I first came across Swapmeet about a year ago through the algorithm, with their song Ceiling Fan. Listening in my car, I instantly hit the like button whilst driving to remind myself to dive back into later, reminding me of Texan and Philli based bands like teethe, Witches Exist and Feeble Little Horse–I immediately categorised them in the bands-I-probably-won't-see-until-I-go-to-America category. But upon researching further I realised they’re from Kaurna Country / South Australia, a homegrown group of angelic musical geniuses! 

Today Swapmeet release their first piece of music since 2024, I Know! A catchy mix of pop, shoegaze and alt rock, released via my favourite label of the moment Winspear who released 2/5 of my top albums last year Winter’s Adult Romantics, and Teethe’s Magic Of The Sale. It’s Winspear’s first time signing a band outside of the states, which is proof of what’s to come for Swapmeet.

The track starts off soft, with Maxwell Elphick on guitar, and Jack Medlyn on drums, setting things up for Joshua Doherty on bass and vocalist and guitarist Venus O’Broin, to prowess through the song, and predicts well the feeling of seeing them play live. The song builds itself up and breaks out into a big fun blend of boppy goodness that makes you instantly want to listen again and again… I Know! I Know! I Know! I Know! I Know! I Know! 

I feel as though this is the beginning of something big for Swapmeet, sparking the interest of international labels, heading to SXSW in Austin plus sharing the stage with acts like Floodlights, dust and Bennee and this is only the beginning. Swapmeet are a band we’re watching closely and can’t wait to see what they do next! We highly recommend listening to their whole discography again and again, so you can really understand.
