YOUR APRIL GIG GUIDE
Happy April everybody! It’s the start of another new month so, as expected, here is the monthly gig guide.
With March’s gigs all crossed off and the page ripped from our calendars, April’s grid is slowly and surely filling up with heaps and heaps of great live music. There’s lots to look forward to this month. Personally, I’m super excited for the Reasons Showcase this Saturday at Sydney’s goated music venue Goodspace Gallery. With music from Hound, Middle Chapter and newcomers Deckard, it’s one I’d recommend to anyone who likes slowcore or shoegaze music, standing still at gigs, nodding their head, leaning on a wall and/or with a tight grip on their schooner.
BUT, for all those who don’t like to enter daunting self introspection while out at shows, there is plenty to do this long weekend to get your body moving, with Four on the Floor’s Fourth Birthday at the Unibar and Bad Sunday’s legendary Easter Sunday Service to satisfy all techno and dance needs.
Later down the line, we’re looking forward to shows from These New South Whales in both Sydney and Wollongong, touring for their new album ‘Godspeed’. We recently spoke to Jamie and Todd from the band about making the album, balancing recording music and playing shows, and saying goodbye to their long-running podcast series. You can read the full interview here.
As always, thank you and good luck!
