YOUR MAY GIG GUIDE
Hello once again, everyone!
I feel obligated to start this intro with a heads up to you all, and a little apology to our good friend Finn the illustrator because this gig guide is long! Maybe double the length it usually is. I’m not apologising to you all though, as I simply didn’t want you all to miss out on any of these great gigs.
A big reason why this list is so full to the brim is all the incredible shows this month for Great Southern Nights. Many included here are collaborations with this great live music initiative and some of Sydney and Wollongong’s best promoters and venues: Debaser’s double feature weekend at the gem of Chippendale the Goodspace Gallery, with Swapmeet and Garage Sale headlining on Friday and Saturday, Hijinx Alley’s great mixed bill at Waywards, and Yours and Owls’ annual Running of The Bulls mini-festival at La’s.
Some other big contributors to this long list are Half Request, Sevilles and Our Mutual Friend. Along with being some of my closest friends, they are also a couple of the best and evidently the busiest bands in Sydney, appearing on this list over and over again. Do yourself a favour and catch them at one of their many shows.
